RESEARCH
The Department carries out Research on coastal dynamics that include specifically beach and estuarine processes.
At present 4 Ph.D students are working on various topics of Coastal Geomorphology and Sediment/water Geochemistry.
 
CONSULTANCY  
The Department of Geology undertakes following consultancy work -

  • Identification of minerals/ores for Ayurveda (Rasashastra) using physical and optical properties.

  • Geophysical survey for bore well location.

  • Grain size analysis and interpretation of sediments

  • Coastal Geomorphology - Beach profiling. 

  • Landuse/landforms classification, change detection using Remote sensing techniques.
